Three in One: The Mystery of the Triune God
Three in One: The Mystery of the Triune God
Join MMGSI for a comprehensive introduction to the doctrine of the Trinity, exploring the biblical foundations, historical development, and philosophical dimensions of the Church’s faith in the one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Students will trace the emergence of Trinitarian theology from the witness of Scripture through the Councils of Nicaea and Constantinople, examining the key figures, controversies, and conceptual developments that gave rise to the classical formulation of the doctrine.
Emphasizing rigorous engagement with the sources of Trinitarian faith, the course draws on Scripture, the Fathers of the Church, and the conciliar tradition to illuminate how the mystery of the Triune God stands at the heart of Christian belief. Attention will also be given to the practical and mystagogical implications of the doctrine — how knowledge of the Trinity shapes Christian prayer, worship, and life in the Church. No prior theological study required.
